Moving panels without damaging them
A panel trolley exists to solve one problem: sheet and board material is heavy, awkward and easy to mark, and two people carrying it across a workshop is how faces get scratched and corners get knocked. On a trolley one person moves it, and the material arrives in the condition it left in.
Upright or A-frame
An upright trolley holds panels near vertical against a padded or profiled back, which keeps the footprint small and suits moving a few panels at a time down an aisle. An A-frame carries panels leaning on both sides of a central spine, doubles the capacity for the same floor space, and balances the load better over the castors when it is fully laden.
Louvre panel trolleys
Louvre panels are a different job again. They are stored and moved as a working display of bins rather than as flat stock, so the trolley needs to hold the panel rigid and upright with the bins loaded, and it needs castors that will take that weight high up without the whole thing feeling tippy.
What to check before buying
Panel length is the first constraint, because an overhanging panel turns a trolley into a hazard. After that it is castor size and the width of the narrowest doorway on the route. A trolley that carries the load but will not go through the door between the saw and the assembly bay has not solved anything.
Capacity
Board is heavier than it looks and a full trolley adds up quickly. Work out the loaded weight of the panels you actually move, not the panels you occasionally move, and size the castors from that.
Built in Britain
Every panel trolley here is fully welded from British steel and built to order, so length, capacity and colour can be set to your material. Sizes outside the listed range are quoted on request.
